Lakeshore Football Secures 36-13 Victory Over Wayland Wildcats The Lakeshore Lancers opened their season with an impressive 36–13 victory over the Wayland Wildcats, pulled ahead by a dominant fourth-quarter performance and a multi-touchdown game from Jonah Chavez. Lakeshore struck first in the opening quarter on a explosive 54-yard touchdown pass from Kaden Griffiths to Jonah Chavez. Wayland answered in the second quarter with a 42-yard sweep touchdown run by Will Lodenstein to briefly take a 7–6 lead. However, Lakeshore regained momentum right before halftime on a 1-yard quarterback keeper touchdown by Griffiths, followed by a two-point conversion to Carter Siik to go into the break leading 14–7. In the second half, Lakeshore's offense kept pressing. Chavez found the end zone on a 3-yard pitch touchdown in the third quarter, extending the lead to 22–7 following a two-point conversion pass from Griffiths to Brody Zech. The Lancers sealed the win with a pair of fourth-quarter rushing touchdowns: Jake Keres broke free for a 20-yard touchdown run at the 11:27 mark (PAT kick by Caroline Nyce good). Jonah Chavez capped off his big night with a 10-yard touchdown run with 26 seconds remaining (PAT kick by Caroline Nyce good). Wayland added a late fourth-quarter touchdown on an 8-yard sweep run by Drew Hudson, but the Lancers closed out the game comfortably to start their season 1–0.
