A walk-off left Lakeshore Lancers Varsity on the wrong end of a 6-5 defeat to Niles on Tuesday. The game was tied at five with Niles batting in the bottom of the eighth when K Barkman singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Niles fired up the offense in the first inning. Niles scored two runs when C Daily singled.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, Niles tied things up at five when B Timm grounded out, scoring one run.

Lakeshore Lancers Varsity put up three runs in the third inning. Lakeshore Lancers Varsity big bats were led by Shelby Grau, Meghan Younger, and Nadia Amicarelli, who each had RBIs in the inning.

Niles scored three runs in the seventh inning. The big inning for Niles came thanks to a single by T Altagott and a groundout by Timm.

M Syson got the win for Niles. She went eight innings, allowing five runs on eight hits and striking out six.

Grace Connelly took the loss for Lakeshore Lancers Varsity. She went one and two-thirds innings, allowing one run on three hits and striking out two.

Laney Mead started the game for Lakeshore Lancers Varsity. She lasted six innings, allowing five hits and four runs while striking out five

Lakeshore Lancers Varsity tallied eight hits on the day. Grau and Younger each had multiple hits for Lakeshore Lancers Varsity. Grau went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Lakeshore Lancers Varsity in hits. Lakeshore Lancers Varsity was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Reneigh Sandmann made the most plays with 12.
