The Lady Lancers got off to a slow start, going down 6-0 to start the game. By the end of the first quarter, the freshman ballers were able to come back and pull within three at 11-8. The second quarter was a different story as the Lancers got down 15-10 before outscoring the Maroon Giants 10-5 to close the half and go into the locker room with a 20-18 lead.

The Lakeshore girls came out of the locker room ready to play and exploded in the third quarter to take a 37-24 lead by the end of the quarter.

In the fourth quarter Kalamazoo Central started chipping away at the Lancer lead and a 3 pointer with 3:00 to go made it 40-38 Lakeshore. With three Lancers fouled out, the guard play of K Central kept them in the game and they tied the game at 43 with 1:49 remaining. With a fourth Lancer fouling out, the Lady Lancers were down to the final five players on the floor. Clutch free throws from Gabby Solloway and Kassidy Jackson gave Lakeshore enough of a lead to hold on for the 47-46 victory.

A near triple-double from Gabby Solloway (18pts, 12 steals, 9 rbds) led the way for the Lancers. Kassidy Jackson added 12 points to go along with her 5 steals. Jennah White was all over the place on the press and defensive side which led to her snatching 9 steals. As a team, the Lancers again outrebounded their opponents with a 35-33 edge on the boards.

The Freshman Lady Lancers are back in action tomorrow, 2/23 at 4:15pm against Mattawan.
