Lakeshore traveled to Niles Saturday afternoon as the host Vikings welcomed the Lancers as non-conference opponents for the first time since the late 90s. For one season only, the Vikings are members of the BCS Conference before shipping off to the Wolverine Conference this fall.

In a close contest, the Vikings slowly pulled away to win 47-44 over Lakeshore. The Lancers forced two turnovers late in the contest after Olivia Trivedi played great defense to give Lakeshore a chance, but the Vikings were able to hold off the threat.

Gabriella Conway led the Lancers with 14 points, and Olivia Trivedi added 12 points. Ashby, Sandman, and Pifer each added six points for the Lancer attack.

The Lancers will now play four straight home games beginning this Monday against Kalamazoo Central. Catch the action live on the Lakeshore Lancer Network, through updates from @LHSLancerSports on Twitter, or through subscription on the NFHS streaming service (search Lakeshore High School).
