The Freshman Lady Lancers made the trip to Portage looking for payback as they took on the Mustangs for the away portion of a back to back. Both teams game ready to play after PC pulled off a close win this past Saturday.

After the first quarter it was knotted at six. The effort on both sides continued with the Mustangs jumping out to a six point lead midway through the 2nd quarter. However, the Lady Lancers aggressive play led to a small run and tied the game up at 19 a piece going into the locker room.

Some small adjustments after the half helped the Lancer defense hold the Mustangs to an 9 point third quarter, while staying neck and neck with them throughout. The game was again tied, at 26 points a piece after three.

The Lakeshore guards continued to work on their press leading to steals and a few quick buckets in the fourth. The Mustangs hung around and got within 2 at 38-36 with just over two minutes to play. After a PC time out, the Mustangs put on a full court press of their own which the Lancers handled smoothly. A three point play from Jennah White and three pointer from Gabby Solloway put the game out of reach.

Jennah White (12 points/11 rebounds/8 steals) and Pallas Dominion (11/11/6) led the way for the Lady Lancers. Kassidy Jackson and Gabby Solloway netter 8 and 7 points respectively.

The Freshman Lady Lancers return to the court for three home games next week starting Monday, February 22nd against Kalamazoo Central at 4:15.
