The St. Joe Bears (10-1, 5-0 SMAC West) handed Lakeshore its first loss at home this season after coming from behind to win 47-35.
The Lancers (7-5, 2-3 SMAC West) raced out to an 18-4 first quarter lead in front of a full house. The Bears zoned in and slowly chipped away at the early Lancer lead, trailing at halftime 21-13. The Bears took the lead for good in the fourth quarter and closed the door late on a Lancer rally to secure the victory.
Jon Bowman led the Lancers in scoring with 11 points and four rebounds while Austin Kiser scored ten. Dylan Sing added seven points for the Lancers.
Lakeshore returns home next Tuesday when they take on the Mattawan Wildcats (9-2) from the SMAC East. Mattawan beat Battle Creek Lakeview tonight 67-43. Tip-off will be around 7 p.m.
