Game Recap

The Lakeshore Lancer softball team traveled to Davenport university to play Spring Lake in the Division 2 state tournament.
Lancers jumped out to an early lead over Spring Lake and took home a 6-1 victory on Tuesday. Lancers scored on a single by Sierra Ciesielski and a single by Teah Lint in the second inning.
The Lancers took an early lead in the second inning. The Lancers scored one run when Sierra Ciesielski singled with one out scoring Becca Spenner who had singled, moved to second base on an Olivia Freehling single , then to third base on a sacrifice bunt by Jordan Wermund. Jena Nate (running for Freehling) scored when Teah Lint singled.
Spring Lake scored in the third inning when Hellman singled and advanced to third on Paggeot’s single. Hellman scored on a suicide bunt by Nelson. Nelson was thrown out at first and Paggeot was thrown out at third.
The Lancers plated 2 more runsin the third inning. Mahri Younger singled, advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Cassidy Zavoral. Taylor Simon then singled moving younger to third. Becca Spenner hit a long fly ball scoring Younger. Laney Mead, running for Simon, then scored on a souble by Olilvia Freehling. Freehling doubled again in the fifth inning scoring Spenner. In the sixth inning, Mahri Younger reached first on a fielders choice, then stole second and advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored as the throw to third went into the out field.

Taylor Simon earned the win for Lancers. She went seven innings, giving up one run, four hits, striking out 12, and walking one. L Vaughan took the loss for Spring Lake. She tossed six innings, giving up six runs, 12 hits, and walking zero.
Lancers had 12 hits in the game.
Olivia Freehling has 1 single and 2 double with 2 RBIs.
Mahri Younger had 2 singles. Taylor Simon also had 2 singles. Lindsay Zavoral had 1 single and 1 double.
Hellman had 2 singles for Spring Lake.
Lakeshore advances to the semi final game on Thursday at Michigan State University. Game time is 12:30.
Lakeshore is now 33-6-1 on the season.
